Personal: |
I think it is important in my line of work, that my customers feel comfortable with
who I am. My name is Tracey Cadwallader, I was born in the small city of Lima, Ohio.
The son of a pastor, I grew up in various towns and cities in Ohio and New York
with 3 siblings. I attended a local college in Buffalo, and attained a degree in
computer science. I worked for a small business there that developed applications
for government facilities, gaining a great deal of programming, management, and
technical sales experience. More importantly, I learned that if you can imagine
it, you can make it happen.

I accepted a consulting position in Charlotte in 1997. With a family of four, we
have really enjoyed what this town has to offer for a family. My daughter has been
involved with local theater since she was 8 years old, and has been fortunate to
grace the stage at CPCC in many productions, most recently in the “Wizard of Oz”
in the new Halton Theater. My son has enjoyed playing baseball with 3 different
local organizations, and just finished a great playoff run with the Hemby Bridge
/ Porter Ridge Cardinals. Last but certainly not least, my wife has been a wonderful
support for all of us.

Professional: |
Since moving to Charlotte, I have worked as a consultant at a major national bank,
developing and supporting various rich-client and browser-based applications. This
line of work requires routine credit and background checks for consultants, as well
as up to date knowledge and practice of accepted and maximized security policies.
As of writing, I still do some consulting and web-application development in the
financial environment - where security is a top concern.

Why I started Inventory People, LLC |
My experience with secured environments and application development - paired with
my entrepreneurial spirit - in hand, I started The Inventory People, LLC in 2005.
I had considered writing software for home inventories quite a few years ago, but
had decided for various reasons that I did not want to spend my energy selling software,
supporting software, and fighting the piracy battle. |
|
|
Then I heard from a friend how his home had been broken into, with quite a few items
stolen. It was in a nice quiet community and in broad daylight. He had a serial
number for his computer, and provided that to the police. The thing that really
caught my ear though, was that he got that computer back. I found that pawn shops
check a database of stolen property, and cannot sell items that are listed there.
Sure, I understood that an inventory was important for insurance purposes, but for
actual recovery of stolen property? The wheels started to turn in my head, and I
started my plan for The Inventory People, LLC. It wouldn’t be merely a software
package, it would be a service. |
|
|
How many people are told by neighborhood watch, police, insurance agents, and financial
planners that they need to have an inventory of their possessions, yet with the
best intentions, and even with reasonably priced software available, they never
get around to it? Maybe they start, but find that it is quite a daunting task. My
objective is simple, to provide this valuable service to my clients for a reasonable
cost. |
