We visit you at your home or business, and help you identify
what makes your inventory unique. At this time we will work with you to
- determine your goals of the inventory
- determine which items to catalog
- what level of detail is appropriate for your needs
- determine the best means for gathering the necessary information
- determine whether non-serialized items will be tagged with our property id tags, and discuss the specifics of this service.
- discuss whether we will be recording beneficiary information for particular items
- determine acceptable places for us to set up our equipment
- schedule a time for your initial inventory
- discuss maintenance contracts and pricing, as well as incident management service level agreements.
Upon completion an estimate will be provided. Our estimate will be straightforward,
listing the number of hours we expect your inventory to take, as well as our hourly
rate for the types of services being provided. Detailed inventories can be
time-consuming, but we are confident that our cutting edge software, tools, and
equipment will allow us to gather all the information we need in the least amount
of time.
Our goal is to ensure that we are efficient, thorough, and that
we do not waste your time. According to our previous arrangements, receipts,
appraisals, and notes/letters will be digitized and included with the pictures,
make, model, serial numbers, and beneficiary designations of each itemized asset
in your inventory.
In addition to the full-detail items that have been identified,
we will take wide-angle shots of rooms and exteriors. Some items that you
do not require detailed information for, will still be shot and stored in our database
as room-level photos.
Video services are available. If we had identified a need
for video as part of your inventory, this will also be shot (and later delivered)
on digital media.
In many cases, we can provide your inventory package promptly
upon completion of your initial inventory. Large inventories and inventories
requiring video may require off-site completion.
A typical inventory package will include:
- (2) copies of your Data DVD's or CD's that include an application for you
to browse your inventory, and print reports.
We use printable media, to prevent damage that labeled media can cause to
your computer or video equipment. We use virus protection software to
prevent your media from becoming infected during the burning process.
- (2) copies of video media (DVD Video) if applicable to your inventory
- Asset listing report. (See Reports)
- Missing Pet report(s). (See Reports)
- A high - quality binder or portfolio for storage of your inventory.
Many home owners and almost all businesses will benefit from a routine visit for
updates to their inventory records.
We can setup a maintenance plan according to your specific needs.
Our proprietary software provides us with a means to recognize new or missing
items in any given room of your home or business, and when the visit is completed,
we will add to your reports new items, and print an exception report for items that
are no longer in your inventory. Based on this report, we can update each item
as 'charity', 'discarded', or we can re-assign it to a different room.
Rate discounts are applied to inventory updates that follow our recommended schedule
for your home or business. Of course, we provide updated digital and printed
records at the completion of an update visit.
When you are impacted by theft, fire, or natural disaster, we can come out to help
you get started on your claim. In most cases, we will be able to help you
within 24hrs. If you are in a current service agreement with us, you will
not be charged for this service. We consider this service to be one of the best
features of our software.
An Incident Management visit is only applicable to current (within 12months) clients
because it relies on accurate and up to date records of your inventory. We
will come to your home, and room-by-room, check your inventory.
We will flag your belongings in our database as damaged, missing, or present.
In the case of damages, the damaged items/areas would be photographed, and later
included in the reports. At the completion of the visit, you will be provided
with a report that lists items your missing or damaged items with their make, model,
serial number, value, and pictures (only information that was recorded as part of
your inventory at previous visits will be available for this report). This
report, accompanied with your signature (verifying that the information is accurate),
can be provided to your insurance agent, as well as to your police department.
In some cases, electronic copies may be provided as well.
You may have special needs with regards to reporting, and we
are set up to be able to help. There are generally a few important reports
that we typically provide when applicable. The most common are:
- Asset listing. This is basically a detailed list of all items in your home.
The report is grouped by Room and will have the critical information about each
inventory item, along with the pictures of each item.
This is a report that we include as part of our inventory package.
- Beneficiary listing. This listing is grouped by beneficiary, and describes
with detailed information and pictures, all the items to be inherited grouped by beneficiary.
This report is included with our inventory package if beneficiary information was recorded for your inventory.
- Stolen Property report. This is part of an Incident Management visit.
This is what you would provide to the Police department.
- Insurance Claim Report. This is what you would provide to your insurance company,
listing stolen or damaged items. In the case of damaged items, your new photos
from the visit will show the damage.
- Missing pet poster. If we have inventoried your pet, we will provide you with a
missing pet poster as part of your inventory. This will help you be prepared if
your pet is ever missing. Simply make copies of the poster in your inventory package.
